Is an air curtain better than an overdoor heater?
Is an air curtain better than an overdoor heater? An air curtain usually comes out on top of an overdoor heater when what you’re after is blocking draughts and keeping heat from escaping out of an open doorway. Unlike an overdoor heater which just gives off a bit of warmth in a small area, an air curtain does a much better job of creating a solid wall of air that keeps the cold at bay.
A heated air curtain is really the complete package – it helps keep the indoor and outdoor air separate, which is especially useful in high-foot-traffic areas like shops, offices and even public buildings. And as an added bonus, it throws off some heat to keep people comfortable.

Still, for a small or infrequently used doorway, a basic overdoor heater may be all you need. The real deciding factor will be what your door is like, how much traffic it gets, how warm you need it to stay, how much you’re willing to spend and what kind of comfort level you’re aiming for.
