Electric unit heaters are low-noise, electrically powered, efficient fan heaters designed for fixed installation. They are suitable for warm air heating, drying, and ventilation of larger areas in industrial and commercial applications, including warehouses, factories, depots, shopping centres, sports centres, and for space heating in individual shops, workshops, storage areas, garages, showrooms, and production facilities.

They are often the logical solution when generating your own electricity or when there is no access to another source of heat, such as a gas or hot water-powered heating system, or for their higher efficiency, as they are 100% energy efficient and can be supplied with zero-carbon energy if renewable electricity is supplied to the heaters, helping to reduce carbon emissions or carbon footprint for your heating requirements.

Electric heaters may be installed in a number of orientations (wall mounted or ceiling mounted) to provide effective heating for a wide range of larger area applications and have 100% energy efficiency, with quick warm-up time and even room temperature of the warm air in the area to be heated.

People sometimes refer to these units as electric fan coil heaters, industrial electric space heaters, or fan coil electric heaters, but technically they are “electric unit heaters”, which are ideal for heating industrial and commercial applications.

• Our “LEO EL BMS” range is the most popular and best-selling line of warm air heating units we offer. They are a commercial and industrial electric unit heater that is the most controllable on the market. These unit heaters are controlled by an intelligent control called the “T Box”.
• This controller can control up to 31 electric unit heaters or a mixture of any of our LEO range of water fed unit heaters or our LEO D destratification fans in conjunction with these electric unit heaters.
• This controller allows advanced control of the heating and ventilating system, controlling the units according to your time schedule and individual needs. The “T Box” controller is also BMS (Building Management System) compatible, allowing a central control system to manage the operating times and performance of these unit heaters, ensuring energy savings through modulating control.
• The largest output of this range is 22.8 kW, and its maximum height of installation is 9.5 metres; thus, high-ceiling installation is achievable.

• These hot air unit heaters can be easily installed using multiple hanging methods, either wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted, for hassle-free, easy installation. Making these units the ideal electric warehouse heating system

Industrial electric warm air space heater accessories & options

Customers have the option to request the manufacturing of these Leo industrial electric unit heaters with a stainless steel casing. Many customers request this option for areas with high humidity or aggressive environments.

We also supply a full range of additional accessories for this electrical unit heater range, which allows you to mix a proportion of fresh air and recirculated air through these warm air unit heaters via an external wall.

Our Leo electric fan heaters work in conjunction with the KM-EL mixing chamber to deliver fresh (outside) air into the room. It enables the delivery of external air into the building and heats the airflow based on the temperature requirements and directs it inside.

There are three air intakes in the chamber: two for recirculation air and one for fresh air. You can smoothly switch or change the amount the damper opens from 0% to 100% on these industrial electric unit heaters.

The picture below shows the LEO industrial electric space heater with a fitted air mixing chamber, which draws and mixes fresh and circulated air through the electric unit heater, ensuring the perfect electric heating system for commercial and industrial applications.

Thermostat temperature and fan speed control 

These industrial electric heaters have two options for temperature control and fan speed control: a basic thermostat with a manually selected fan speed (please note that this electric heater range can also be used in a ventilation-non-heating mode). This controller is designated as the “TS”.

 

The second option is a more sophisticated controller that can connect to a building management system (BMS) and control up to 31 electric heaters. It is a full control system on its own, as such, which will automatically ramp up and down the heat settings and fan speeds to suit the temperature set point. It also has a frost protection mode.

 

 

Mounting heights for our Leo EL range

These compact electric heating unit heaters can be mounted on the wall or hung vertically from the ceiling, as per the detail below.

 

EUH14/7 unit heater

For outputs in between the LEO range, we have the EUH14 model – this compact electric unit heater is a two-stage warm air heating output unit (two heat settings) of either 14 kW or 7 kW and has a three-speed fan.

Controller option for the EUH14

The controller is used to regulate devices equipped with three-stage fans. The controller has a programmable mode, operation in heating or ventilation mode, automatic selection of the fan speed and can be integrated with the BMS building control system. The controller has a function to cool down the heater, i.e., after turning off the device, the fan still runs for about 45 seconds so the heater cools down, removing the heated air from it. We can connect a maximum of 10 units to one controller.

FHEL 15 kW or 30 kW electric-powered warm air unit heaters

 

This range includes two models of 15kW and 30kW, featuring automatic power modulation from 30% to 100%. The FHEH30 model is equipped with a variable-speed EC fan, while the FHEH15 model features a standard AC fan.

 

The benefits of modulating heating

• Energy savings: Thanks to power modulation, the FHEH warm air heater reduces energy consumption by over 25% compared to standard electric warm air heaters, lowering operating expenses and reducing the carbon footprint.

• Comfort: The unit adapts its output to room conditions, prevents sudden temperature fluctuations, and ensures a stable and comfortable temperature and
pleasant indoor climate.

• Adaptive airflow with an EC fan (FHEH30 model only): a variable-speed fan that automatically adjusts the airflow based on the supply air temperature, preventing the circulation of cold air when output is reduced and ensuring consistent comfort.

• Simplified installation: no neutral wire (4 wires instead of 5), built-in thermostat, flexible power cable, and a mounting bracket with 3 vertical and 3 horizontal adjustment positions.

Control options of the FHEL electric warm air units

The “FHEH” electric air unit heaters offer flexible and intuitive control options. It can be operated via a wall-mounted touchscreen thermostat for simple and straightforward use for desired temperature control. These units can also be used to circulate air in warmer weather (i.e., with the heating elements turned off)

A single thermostat can manage up to six “FHEH” units simultaneously, allowing for centralised effective heating and efficient control of these electric warm air heaters for commercial or industrial applications.

Smart connectivity allows you to adjust settings and programmes and monitor performance locally, ensuring optimal comfort and maximum energy savings.
